VRUCK identified a gap between our communities’ available resources and services and the veterans for which they are intended. We strive to close that gap.
Our Mission
VRUCK is committed to:
Facilitating a Community Network
Connecting government, non-profit and private veteran service organizations via a board of representatives of veteran-focused stakeholders.
Increasing Communication
And promoting a greater cooperation among all organizations delivering services to veterans in the Central/ Southeastern Kentucky area.
Finding Needed Services
Collaboratively identifying and addressing gaps in needed programs and services for veterans.
Providing Platform for Veterans
Providing veterans with an additional platform via stakeholder representatives on board to discuss concerns, needs, and issues.
Providing Resource Information
Providing information to community board members about available resources to increase accessibility and visibility of available services.
Vets Connecting
Facilitating community forums (“Vets Connecting”) where veterans and service providers can learn about and from each other.
Sponsoring Events
Planning and developing community events to raise awareness and support for veterans.
Lobbying for Veterans
Developing an advocacy capacity to lobby for needed veterans programs, resources, and legislation.
